From what I have read and heard from other girlfriends/fiances/wives is that the "no display of affection" rule is not as strict at Graduations, Homecomings, and Goodbyes... but with that said I wouldn't suggest hanging on him for extended periods of time or showing too much PDA. A good rule to follow is to go by your new Marine's lead. They will know what is and isn't acceptable by their SDI for Family Day and Graduation. When does your recruit graduate?

Posts: 113 Sep 9 11 3:35 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	There is no real dress code, they just want everyone to keep it tasteful (aka- no midriffs, excessive cleavage, stuff like that). I think the key is to dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes since you are outside and walking a lot. I think most people wear a Marine t-shirt on Family Day and a casual dress or a nice shirt on Graduation. My fiancé graduates on the 16th too. I ordered a customized t-shirt a few weeks ago in his battalion color with his last name and platoon number on it which I am wearing on Family Day. I also got a Marine Corp sweater that I can wear in the morning since it might be a bit cold for me (I am from Florida so 60 degrees is basically freezing lol). Then on Graduation I am wearing a dress that comes to just above my knee with some nice sandals.

I have 4 weeks and I am getting so excited! My boyfriend requested I wear a red dress for graduation since that is his Company color and then I am gonna wear a cardigan with it because it will probably be chilly in the morning.

Like I spend the whole 9 months while he was in DEP freaking out over nothing lol. I have been getting so excited for graduation that I almost forgot about Liberty Sunday. I cannot wait to talk to him again in just 2 days!

Posts: 113 Nov 27 11 7:41 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	His Senior Drill Instructor makes the rules and as long as your new Marine is on Parris Island he is meant to follow them. Holding hands is a big no-no, regardless of where you are. My Marine will not hold my hand in public if he is in uniform or anything that says "Marines" on it. You will get a big bear hug on Family Day as soon as they are released, but don't expect to be getting hugs all day. The new Marines are being watching, there are DIs walking around all over the base. You may, or may not get a kiss, but I would not count on it. These guys have worked very hard to earn the title and aren’t eager to disrespect it the second they earn it. Whatever rules are set for family day will apply to graduation day. But keep in mind that graduation day is short. After the ceremony you will take pictures, go the MPX, and then go home.

It also depends on what your husband wants some of them aren't comfortable because they are still being watched by the DIs just follow what your husband wants. I was a able to give my husband a quick peck on graduation day but that was only because he leaned in to give me a kiss if he wouldn't have leaned in I wouldn't have kissed him because I wanted to make him comfortable.
