I will be bringing him clothes to travel home in. What is okay to bring? Thanks!

Shirts must be tucked in when wearing belted pants. Your best bet would be to ask him what he'd prefer you to send. You could also purchase him something to wear home while you are at PI on Family Day if he's not sure what size he will wear due to the weight fluctuations. He just wanted off that island didn't even want to think about changing. We drove and he didn't even want to change at a rest stop. He just sat in the backseat with his huge cup of coffee and told me "Mom I am sitting down, drinking coffee, and not getting yelled at, I am just fine." Being 6'6", though, it's gonna be hard to find a fit for him down there if stores are limited. I think I'll take his khakis, a belt, and a comfy t-shirt. If he's actually gained weight, the khakis had a little extra room. He's always worn white t-shirts, which his recruiter told us were considered undershirts and weren't acceptable. He kept wearing them anyway, but I bet he never will again! I might even iron what I take for him! That'll be a miracle, since I do NOT iron! Ha ha!

Boy do I have a LOT to learn. Will our recruits know all of this by graduation?

But a couple lessons from him and you be good to go!! Dust off the iron even if you don't use it. At age 19, after 1 year in the Marines, he was honorably discharged due to blowing out his knee. To this day, he still irons his t-shirts! He always looks immaculate!

And if you go anywhere you are supposed to be shaved. I seem to remember that at Lejeune, you weren't supposed to use hair gel and all that while on duty/at work either. I DO NOT iron - well, other than the occasional craft need. I might need to buy him an iron for graduation. ROTFL!!!! The clothes .... drat. He's hard to fit (he's small and I would imagine, smaller due to training), and most of his jeans are frayed, I believe. Hmmmmm ....Now, I'm thinking.

And to think, last year I bought him some decent ones that he never wore....that probably won't fit him now when he'd actually appreciate them lol! I'm thinking my son will probably want to wear his uniform home, but since we are driving, I'm going to ask him what he'd like us to bring in case he gets uncomfortable on the ride back.

The sweat pants should be ok just be careful that they're not so big they hang off the guys. Also, be extra careful about what's printed on the t-shirts.
