"Thank You" for DIs - gifts?

I have been told that we are not allowed to give the DIs a gift. Does that mean not even a gift card to a restaurant? If that is not allowed, how about homemade baked goods?

Need help finding email address and names of SDI and DI's

Is there anyone who knows the name of the SDI or DI's for platoon 3096 Kilo Company? I have volunteered to send the invitation for the meet and greet but have no idea who they are or how to get their email addresses. Is there someone who knows who could help me. I would hate for them to not get an invitation. If you have any info for me could you please PM me. Thanks so much, maryc

I had found on here a few weeks back about a lady who does personalized Ts for family day/graduation. I have emailed her twice but received no response. My brother's graduation is next month and I want to be sure we get the shirts we need/want in plenty of time. Does anyone have any suggestions of where else I can look?? Thanks!!!

If I understand correctly, next Tuesday, November 10th, is the 234th birthday of the Marine Corps!!! Will there be any special activities on the island that day? If so, does it involve the recruits (and the "newly-minted" Marines of Kilo Co.)?

My boyfriend left Nov. 2nd for Parris Island. He graduates Jan 29th. How do I know what batillion he is in and stuff like that? He is reserves..so to my understanding this is how it will be..

Boot Camp til Jan 29th
10 day leave
Infantry school for 4 weeks
Then Combat Eng. MOS for 3.5 months

Then done? And goes to school?

I hope this gets easier..miss him so much!

My son / recruit is in Golf Co. In his last letter he said, "I could by him a watch and send it if I wanted to". He said he would need one at the end of his training. He did specify it needed to be a Sports watch and only black. I would like to do this for him, but I don't want him to get in trouble. Any suggestions or thoughts on this?

Pets on Family Day

I've rented a house for graduation that is pet friendly. I saw the message about pets on Parris Island but I'm not sure I understand it. Sounds like only service dogs are allowed inside specific buildings. The rest of the message talks about having your animal under control at all times. So does that mean I can bring our dog on Family Day as long as it is leashed and under my control at all times but just not take him into any buildings or near any food establishments? I...

The platoons all have their own flag. Do the color of the flag coincide with the primary color of that platoon? Like... will Plt 3002 in Mike Company have a blue flag? Just looking for something to help me look through all those pictures faster!!! Thanks!

I just have a quick question about boot camp. My brother, who is currently I recruit is scheduled to graduate Dec. 18th -- he wrote to us and said he's been feeling very sick that he has been coughing and throwing up some. He is afraid to go to the medical house (whatever it's called) on base in fear of them keeping him for more than 3 days.
